Squash Patties

1 1/4 lbs. yellow squash
1 chopped onion
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 cup (22) cracker crumbs
cornmeal
oil

Boil squash and onions until tender.  Drain well and mash.  Add rest of ingredients.  Mix well and chill overnight.

Shape into patties.  Roll in cornmeal and fry slowly in hot oil.
